Snails...snails...snails

This week we had some slimy visitors in our classroom.
We were scientists by using our observation and questioning skills.

Many of our activities this week have involved snails.
We read lots of stories and poems, wrote stories, watched you-tube clips and did craft activities.

University Library Visit

When the Year one team headed to the University children's library all the teachers were very proud of the children.
The children loved the library and quickly relaxed into library zone.

Exploring Time
During our Team Exploring Time this week we were focussing on 'Being Positive' which is an Ilam School Value and  part of the Ilam School Vision 'I Belong'.
Before we started the children brainstormed what this would look like and sound like.
Below is what our amazing Year 0/1 children shared.

The children were very enthusiastic about our outside activities which included 'The Creation Station', water tray and sandpit.
It was wonderful to see and hear the children practicing the ideas they shared.

Teddy Bears' Picnic

If you go down to Ilam School today, you're sure to get a big surprise...

...and we did. What a fun day!

It was so lovely to meet all the special teddy bears and have a picnic on the hill behind school.

We all agree that our teddies are cuddly and help make us feel safe, special and loved.
